SMT PCB Standoff
What's PCB Standoff?
Standoff refers to the vertical distance from the bottom of a surface-mount device (SMD) body to the bottom of its pins. It can also be understood as the fastener between the device body and the PCB surface after mounting. It is not a separate physical component, but rather a spatial structure formed during device mounting, playing a crucial role in the stability and reliability of electronic equipment. PCB standoff is a mounting component used to mechanically fix and elevate the printed circuit board (PCB) above an electronic enclosure or substrate.
There are several types of metal stands off:
Copper standoff/brass standoff: It has good conductivity and is commonly used in scenarios that require grounding or thermal conductivity. The surface can be plated with gold or nickel to enhance corrosion resistance.
Stainless steel standoff: High strength, corrosion resistance; some products undergo black oxidation treatment for aesthetics and protection.
Aluminum standoff: Lightweight and has good heat dissipation, but it has strong conductivity and requires attention to insulation design.

| Material | Copper, brass, aluminum, stainless steel, iron, etc. |
| Threaded Size | M2, M2.5, M3, M4 |
| Application | PCB, Inverter, New energy |
| Type | Hex standoff, Round standoff, Custom |
| Certification | ISO9001, RoHS, IATF16949 |
PCB standoff serves the following purposes:
1. Providing mechanical stability;
2. Preventing short circuits between the PCB and the casing;
3. Promoting airflow and heat dissipation.
Common PCB standoff models and specifications: Models are typically defined by parameters such as thread specification, height, outer diameter, and structural type. Common combinations include:
Thread specification: M2, M2.5, M3, M4, 4-40, 6-32, etc.
Height (Board Standoff Height): Commonly 4mm, 7mm, 10mm, 25mm, etc.
Structure Type:
Male/female thread: M3 male thread x M3 female thread standoff;
Head type: Hexagonal standoff, Round standoff, Hex standoff;
Crimp type: No welding required, suitable for rapid assembly;
