Battery enclosures are rated by their IP (Ingress Protection) classification, which defines resistance to solid particles and liquid ingress. These high levels of sealing ensure that the enclosure can withstand heavy rain, snow, high humidity, and in coastal or marine environments, salt spray. Gaskets made of silicone or EPDM rubber are fitted along all seams, door openings, and cable entry points to maintain a continuous seal.
